Why do coffee packages have holes?

1.What is a small hole ?

      In fact, these “holes” are called one-way exhaust valves.  One-way exhaust valve is a functional packaging accessories, the role is also like its name, and one-way street, only allow gas flow in one direction, never allow retrograde.

     When reach a certain pressure on the bean bag, can through the exhaust valve from the inside-out eliminate gas, when the pressure in the container is reduced to the top when reaches a certain pressure on the bean bag, can through the exhaust valve from the inside-out eliminate gas, when the pressure in the container is reduced to enough to open the valve, the valve automatically shut down, so only the gas inside the out,  The steam and air outside cannot come in.

2. why install small holes ?

     After the coffee bean is roasted, the ingredients in the coffee bean set off a series of chemical and physical reactions that produce gases in the process.  In order to preserve flavor and reduce loss, coffee beans are usually bagged immediately after roasting and cooling. Due to chemical reactions, freshly roasted coffee is very rich in carbon dioxide and will continue to emit for a long time.

     If the gas is not released, it will lead to bag expansion or even bag bursting. But if the gas is released from the packaging, it will destroy the sealing environment inside the bag, leading to the entry of water vapor and oxygen, so that the packaging will lose its meaning.

     If the one-way exhaust valve is installed on the bag, the internal gas will be discharged through the exhaust hole, and the external gas will be prevented from entering the bag because of the pressure, so as to achieve the purpose of coffee preservation.

     In addition, the one-way exhaust valve is user friendly and can tell whether the flavor of the coffee beans is to your taste by squeezing out the odor.  However, it is not recommended to squeeze the bag, as the gas will also cause the coffee to lose flavor, which is not conducive to long-term flavor retention.
